Mahabl

What is Mahabl?

Mahabl is a match 2 web game that uses illustration caricatures of politicians from Israel's government coalition. When players match 2 cards, a quote from that politician pops up.

Overview

Inspiration for Mahabl came from AAAA Cats idea of match 2 game and using more advanced knowledge in web development, I created an expression of my concerns regarding a political situation in Israel.

Why Mahabl?

Hebrew speakers like to short their words on day-to-day basis. So the משחק הזיכרון בדרך לדיקטטורה (Memory game on our way to dictatorship) shorts as מהב"ל (MGOOWTD) or in English "mahabl".

Stack Overview

Unlike my previous project which is Portfolio. This game requires a lot of JavaScript logic, but I wasn't sure JavaScript was actually a good fit for me this time, because of it's loose typing, so I went for TypeScript with strict typing. This allowed me to develop a game logic in OOP way and on top of that, I was quickly notified about possible errors which saved time, because I didn't have to debug through hundreds of lines of code.

On this project I worked with Lior Baier who drew all the assets by hand, provided UX/UI and design.
